Get On Board

You can feel the rumble
From far far away
You can see the light shining
Bright like the break of day
Every man every woman and child
Has their ticket and the train is right on time
The train called tomorrow
Headed down a one-way line
You get on board, you get on board
All you’re having is memory of the way things used to be
And a sorrow that you just can’t cure
The hopeful and the hopeless
Together side by side
The one thing that we all share
Is the fact that we’re alive
And the thunder rolls heavy through the nighttime
You close your eyes and see the flashes of the world outside
The train called tomorrow
Headed down a one-way line
You get on board, you get on board
All you’re having is memory of the way things used to be
And a sorrow that you just can’t cure
You get on board, you get on board
When you're standing at the station,
Leave behind your self-destruction
And another day is your reward
You can dig for your gold, end up digging your grave
You can dig for the truth, end up in the same place
At the end of the line,
Things are never what they seemed
You can’t help but wonder,
If the journey was all a dream
Then you hear that lonesome whistle blowing,
And it brings you back around again
This is where it started, this is where it ends
You get on board, you get on board
All you’re having is memory of the way things used to be
And a sorrow that you just can’t cure
You get on board, you get on board
When you're standing at the station,
Leave behind your self-destruction
And another day is your reward
You show the devil to the door
When you get on board
