Makin' Money

I’m losing my patience
And I guess I’m losing touch
How long is too long
How much is too much
When you wear your condescension ‘til it fits you like a glove
It’s too much makin’ money, not enough makin’ love
You’ve been pulling at my heart strings
Wrapped ‘em tight around your finger
I tried to keep my distance
But you pulled me in closer
And it defies my comprehension
When push comes to shove
It’s too much makin’ money, not enough makin’ love
I rise from my bed, I’m ready for sleep
I walk through the door and I’m ready to leave
Years just fly by
In the blink of an eye
But it’s killing me slowly
I’m wasting away
And it’s bound to make a grown man cry
I’m losing my patience
And I guess I’m losing touch
But how long is too long
How much is too much
When you wear your condescension ‘til it fits you like a glove
It’s too much makin’ money, not enough makin’ love
And it’s too much makin’ money, not enough makin’ love
